Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Ukraine on Thursday of supporting terrorist organizations to organize and carry out attacks against government forces in several countries in the Sahel, Africa.

Lavrov said that Kiev not only takes advantage of the support of its «western sponsors», but also tries to involve very actively organizations designated as terrorists in their activities.
The Chancellor recalled that the involvement of Ukrainian military intelligence in the organization of the terrorist attack on 22 March at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow had already been established.
«The ongoing investigation has already found evidence of the involvement of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine in its preparation», commented the Chancellor, adding that the terrorists’ attempt to escape across the border with Ukraine was meticulously prepared.
According to Lavrov, ‘now there is information circulating about the fact that Ukrainian issuers, Ukrainian intelligence issuers, are in the de-escalation zone of Idlib, in the Syrian Arab Republic, where they recruit Jabhan al-Nusra militiamen, formerly called, now called Hayat Tahrir al Sham, to involve them in their new malicious operations».
He added that the Ukrainian services also operate in the African region of the Sahel, where «together with recruited extremists carry out terrorist attacks against government forces from several countries», such as the ambush by Malian military personnel who were supported by fighters of the Russian private military group Wagner.
Following the public support that senior Ukrainian officials have shown to jihadists and terrorists operating in the African country, the Malian authorities announced their decision to break diplomatic relations with Kiev.
